My friends were having ice cream in Yosemite Village, so I investigated what--if anything--was available for vegans.
When I returned to the their table, I said, "I'm disappointed that they don't offer any vegan options in a national park. They should even promote veganism."
One of my friends, obviously annoyed by my cause, said, "Don't be a spoiled sport."
Did she think that I was upset that I couldn't eat ice cream? I could. I can. I just don't.
But her husband was willing to hear why I thought veganism was important to both the environment and to animal welfare.
