Friend's Magic Trick Gets Two Vegan Cookies to Disappear

I wish this meant that she gobbled them down enthusiastically, but she took a piece and hid the rest I know not where.  That was the magic act.

First, at Pete's at the Embarcadero, I offered a cookie from the Alternative Baking Company, and when I looked away for a moment, her half was gone but not eaten. 

Then, since Pete's was closing, we went back to the theater, where we'd seen "The Death of Stalin," and I gave her one I'd made, frozen, and defrosted--maybe not the best sampling of vegan baked goods.

Once again, through sleight of hand, her cookie disappeared.

I feel that I haven't furthered the vegan cause today.
