What I was really excited about was the appearance of Judy Tsang, a friend of Jonathan, who was appearing in the cover story of Food + Wine today, Sunday, July 19, 2020 in "Raising the bar: How an apartment building turned into the best cocktail spot in SF." What I didn't expect but was happy to see was a full back page on the Impossible Cookbook, "Recipes make meatless possible" in today's Food section of the SF Chronicle?
I'm not a big fan of simulated meat, so what interested me even more was Soleil Ho's interesting interview with Daniel M. Lavery, who has an advice column and talked about the "terror of factory farms." He says "When it comes to both workers' rights and the future and climate change, everything about the systems that we have in our foodways is terrifying. Everything about factory farming is terrifying. Anybody who tries to think about it for over a minute, I think, often runs into just this absolute sense of terror, like, .'Oh my God we've create hell on Earth.'" He goes on from there.
